About

Courtney Satow, CLD (formerly CD(DONA), re-certified with CAPPA) is a Certified Labor Doula, women’s wellness coach, and registered yoga teacher specializing in pre and postnatal yoga. In 2008 Courtney earned a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology with an Emphasis in Wellness having known early on that she wanted to work in women’s health. The transition into working with women during their motherhood journey was fairly seamless after teaching yoga for several years and then completing a 100-hour pre and postnatal teacher training. Wanting to continue soaking up as much information as possible, Courtney enrolled in BINI Birth’s Doula training and just one week later attended her first birth. Needless to say, it was life changing. She felt so inspired by her client’s strength and unshakable desire to achieve the birth she longed for, Courtney knew that this is what she wanted to dive into. Shortly after completing her Birth Doula certification through DONA, Courtney completed a Spinning Babies training and the BIRTHFIT Professional program. She has since attended the Body Ready Method’s Professional Primer for birth workers and re-certified through CAPPA in 2024.

Courtney is a mother to her beautiful kids, Sawyer and Banks, and wife to her incredible husband, Kyle, whom she met playing collegiate soccer. As a mother and Doula, Courtney believes in the power of preparation from both an educational and physical standpoint…but there is just so much more to it. If you allow it, it can transform you. To have the opportunity to do something that could be once in a lifetime, to move and share in the experience with your baby rather than disconnect from it… there is something to be said about the way we approach birth and how it can shape our journey ahead. Leading with trust rather than fear…that is the goal. Courtney wants her clients to come away from their birth feeling heard and empowered throughout their journey to becoming a mother. Having had a birth using an epidural along with some necessary interventions as well as an unmedicated and mostly hands-off birth, Courtney has the perspective of both experiences which she feels is a useful tool in itself to lend insight to her clients.

Client Testimonial

I started taking Courtney's prenatal yoga classes every Wednesday, and they were so special! The way she structured her classes around bonding with baby, opening up the body and preparing for the big day, mentally and physically, was exactly what I needed during pregnancy. I truly believe it helped me feel ready, prepared, and confident for our birthing day.

I also asked Courtney to be our Doula, and it was the best decision ever! She is so knowledgeable about the process and really helped prepare us for what to expect, used different techniques and positions for labor, controlling breath and mindset, being an advocate for our preferences during labor and delivery, and just overall a huge support for my husband and me. Courtney was always there to answer questions, share resources, make home visits before and after birth, and even helped us write our birth preferences for the hospital. She went out of her way to also help me find a new doctor when I expressed concern about mine. She was absolutely amazing to work with, beyond exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend her as a birth Doula and yoga instructor. My husband and I are so grateful for her guidance during the most special day of our lives.
